  • Navigating the Waters of Change: Strengthening the Capacity of NWT Communities to Respond to the Impacts of Climate Change on Municipal Water and Wastewater Systems 2009 -  The purpose of this paper is to provide a preliminary assessment of the potential impacts of climate change on water and waste water systems in the NWT and recommend actions to increase the capacity of communities to respond and adapt to changes.
  • Trout Lake Source Water Protection: Briefing and Implementation Planning Presentation 2015 - Ecology North staff presented a summary of our Source Water Protection work with the community of Trout Lake at the NWT Water Stewardship Implementation Planning Meeting.​
  • Community of Sambaa K'e 2015 Water Quality Sampling Result Summary - Ecology North and the Community of Sambaa K'e recently completed a water quality sampling program aimed at learning more about how abandoned wells in the Trout Lake watershed may be impacting surrounding water quality. The results of the sampling program are presented in this document.​

  • ​Bottled Water Free Zone - print this sign and post it to let people know that bottled water is not permitted 
  • Proudly Offering NWT Water - print this sign to show your pride in offering NWT water over bottled water.
  • Behind the Bottle 2009 - In 2009 Ecology North released a 4-page publication educating residents about the NWT about bottled water, specifically about the hidden costs of choosing to drink bottled water.
  • Background Research Report on Bottled Water Consumption in the NWT 2016 - As part of Canada Water Week 2016, Ecology North launched a preliminary study into the amount of bottled water consumed in the NWT over 2014-2015. The research methods, approach, and results are reported in this background document.

  • Drinking Water Curriculum in the NWT 2013 - Ecology North helped to develop a Northern focused student curriculum designed to fit in with the Grade 7 and 8 Science in Action, Grade 8 Math, and the Dene Kede school curriculums. The curriculum is comprised of two separate lessons designed to help students think critically about drinking bottled water in the Northwest Territories and the steps through which communities can and do protect their community’s tap water. Lesson 1. Lesson 2.
  • Get To Know Your Watershed - Teacher Resource Guide 2015 - Ecology North developed this teacher resource guide for northern teachers and organizations to help teach and engage students in learning about watersheds. The guide was developed with financial support from Environment and Natural Resources, Government of the Northwest Territories and was released for Canada Water Week 2015.
  • Pepper and the Mighty Mackenzie 2014 - As part of Canada Water Week 2014, Ecology North developed an educational activity in support of the Northwest Territories Water Stewardship Strategy. The book is for children of all ages, and follows Sand Piper as she explores the mighty Mackenzie River.
